About Daniel

Former teacher. Proven nonprofit leader.

Daniel Sellers

Born and raised in Minnesota, Daniel has spent his entire professional career working in and with schools: as a sixth-grade math teacher, as a leader of nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving education, and as a tireless advocate at the state Capitol working to improve our state’s education policies and laws.

Daniel, his wife, and their two school-aged children moved to the Wayzata District because of the stellar reputation of the schools, and Daniel is running for school board to ensure that we maintain that exceptional quality so that every student in the district benefits from high-quality learning opportunities and can reach their full potential.

As Executive Director of four education nonprofit organizations, Daniel has been responsible for strategic planning, personnel management, and multimillion dollar budgets. He has experience working with community-based organizations, listening to their needs, and partnering with them to drive positive outcomes. He also has more than a dozen years of governance experience, having served on several nonprofit boards.

In his free time, Daniel coaches T-ball and soccer, golfs, runs, plays guitar, and is a diehard Minnesota Twins fan.
